Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipsticks in First Blush, Tangerine Pop, Citrus Flirt, Coral Bliss and Sassy Fuchsia

Without a doubt, summertime is a period of froliciking in fields of colourful lipsticks. I'm at school, so I no longer have any need to be conservative in my makeup-wearing ways. That being said, Mary Kay has TEN new shades of the Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick ($19 at MaryKay.ca) formulas - something for the neutrals gal or one who loves brights.

There are a total of 10 new shades in addition to the 10 already existing colours of the Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipsticks. I have all 10 of the new shades to share with you but I thought I'd break it into two posts of 5 lippies for somewhat easier reading. Today is the Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipsticks in First Blush, Tangerine Pop, Citrus Flirt, Coral Bliss and Sassy Fuchsia (aka "The Brights").

Anyways, first thing's first. Stop and  take in the packaging. Sleek silver tubes are my weakness and it doesn't get much better than clicking the plastic piece the top to reveal the lipstick inside.

First Blush, Tangerine Pop, Citrus Flirt, Coral Bliss, Sassy Fuchsia (one swipe)

These lipsticks look as hydrating as they feel on the lips. Enriched with Vitamin E, these glide over the lips with ease. They're extremely non-drying and all have a slight glossy sheen that makes lips look plump and healthy. The brighter shades are (obviously) much more pigmented but with a lighter or heavier hand they can all be made sheer or opaque. Upon study of the bullet, some of the shades appear to have a slight shimmer but the only one for which it is noticeable is Tangerine Pop.

As per usual, hydrating lipsticks lack lasting power. The two really bright ones (Citrus Flirt and Sassy Fuchsia) stay on the lips for, at most, 3 hours, while the others stick around for 1-2. The lipsticks also have the slightest "old lady" scent. It's not bothersome and wears away a couple minutes after application.

Coral Bliss

As a firm believer in sheer, buildable lipsticks, the new shades of the Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipsticks have my kiss of approval. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post on "The Neutrals" - Exotic Mango, Tuscan Rose, Chocolate, Lava Berry and Berry a la Mode (here).
