WEEK 3: Oil+Mud Masque | Montagne Jeunesse Mask Off Roundup

The name "oil" scares me a little. But add "mud into the mix and it's a whole different story. The Olive Oil/Nut Oil Mask is by no means slicking oil all over your face, rather it's the same relaxing at-home spa mask treatment that we've been testing out for the past two weeks!

Yep, this week is Oil Mud Masque Week and the Canadian Beauty Bloggers have flinged around green goop on their faces to bring you their thoughts on the Montagne Jeunesse Cold Pressed Olive Oil Mud Masque and the Nut Oil Mud Masque. Let's see how this one played out...

*steph's sidenote: this week's ratings were 50/50 split in every category, none of my excessive game show lingo should be necessary to get you all riled up for our bloggers' thoughts on the oil mask...

Comfort - 3.33/5
"I'm not used to the drying feeling of masks and I don't like that I can't really move any facial muscles." - Chantal's Corner

Aroma - 3.58/5
"I could swear this smelled like avocadoes and I had to check the ingredients list to be sure! I found the scent to be very soothing and refreshing. What I liked about it as well was that it was a light scent and not overpowering like the other two. My favourite smell-wise is still the chocolate, but this is a close second." - Just J

"A bit intense at first, but it turned into a sweet nutty smell that made me think of marzipan and nutty cakes – which I love." - Ivory Avenue

"This didn't smell like anything, which I am ok with. I have a sensitivity to strong smells and unless it's that chocolate mask, I don't care for a scented face treatment!" - Swatch and Review

Results - 3.75/5
"The only result I saw was tight dry skin afterward." - Workday Ramblings

"As much as I didn't like the smell, my skin felt so soft and moisturized afterwards! The RESULTS of this mask are probably my favourite so far!" - Cosmetic Proof

*steph's sidenote: took Julie's (Swatch and Review) advice this time around and applied the mask with a brush. 100% easier, despite the fact that I look like a man mid-shave.

Ease of Use - 3.67/5
"I noticed this contains clay, and those are my preferred type of mask, so this one pretty much lived up to my expectations. It applied easily and washed off easily in the shower with no greasy film residue. There was a TON of product in this one. Probably enough for 2 applications actually, so I felt a little sad that I couldn't reseal the packet." - Just J

"It was really easy to apply, but I found it took a while to remove." - Chantal's Corner

TOTAL SCORE: 14.33/20

Look's like the Chocolate Mask is still in the lead and the Oil Mask is smack-dab in the middle of the pack:
  1. Chocolate Mask - 15.83
  2. Oil Mask - 14.33
  3. Peel Off Mask - 13.72
Price and Availability: $1.99 at Walmart, Value Drug Mart, Familiprix, Lawtons Drugs, and Farleyco.ca

2 weeks left until we crown the MASK OF ALL MASKS in the #CBBMJMASKOFF. Stay tuned for next week's *drumroll please*..... Scrubs!
