Not going to lie, I'm a strong believer in a heavy-duty makeup remover and double cleansing. My skin's pretty resilient and I just want to get all the gunk off my face at the end of the day. For the past week, I've been testing the Garner Clean Plus Makeup Removing Lotion Cleanser (~$5.97) which is a slight tangent from my regular removal routine.
There are 4 straight-forward things to know about this product
(1) It claims to remove stubborn makeup and calm sensitive skin
(2) After 1 week, it claims to leave skin feeling comfortable, conditioned and throughly cleansed. After 1 week, skin is supposedly smoother, softer and looks healthier.
(3) It doesn't contain alcohol, dyes or fragrances
(3) It's approved by the Canadian Dermatology Association.
On the skin, the product feels like a light lotion rather than something like a thick cold cream. The skin doesn't absorb it quite like a lotion (not that it needs to) but it feels smooth and relaxing to apply. To use it, you simply squeeze a little out of the bottle and massage it all over your face. I noticed my makeup immediately breaking up upon contact with the product (a very good sign). The caveat? I didn't put the product near my eyes but it somehow got close to them and it stung like a poop. Not fun. Besides that...
After washing the product off with lukewarm water (you can also use a cloth or cotton pad to wipe it off), my skin felt very supple and hydrated without feeling greasy. I took a makeup wipe to my face just to see if there was any residual product and there wasn't! So, I'm 100% positive that this stuff removes all your makeup in one go.
Indeed, this makeup remover is ultra-gentle (yet powerful!!), suitable for sensitive skin. But not for my sensitive eyes.
Have you tried the Garnier Clean Plus Makeup Removing Lotion Cleanser?
