It's been a while since I've tested out a drugstore lip crayon and I'm not really over them yet. The Wet n Wild Megaslicks Balm Stains ($2.99) are some of the least expensive on the market.
The packaging is nondescript and comparable to similar twist-up drugstore lip crayon products. The plastic cap actually clicks into place, which gives the packaging a more secure feel.
The colours above are Red-dy or Not (pink-red), A Stiff Pink (cool-toned hot pink), Pinky Promise (light peachy pink), Nudist Colony (nude). Nudist Colony, A Stiff Pink and Red-dy or Not all have a glossy finish and no shimmer. Pinky Promise is a light peach with find golden pearl shimmer running through it. All four are sheer but build-able with a high-gloss finish. The shine dries down after 3 hours. For Nudist Colony and Pinky Promise, this means that they've disappeared. As for A Stiff Pink and Red-dy or Not, the colour remains for the remainder of the day as an even stain.
A few other things to note - there's NO SCENT, which is actually preferred over any minty, vanilla, sugary thing out there and these balm stains feel very comfortable on the lips.
129 Nudist Colony
127 Pinky Promise
127 A Stiff Pink
125 Red-dy or Not
On the spectrum of sheer to pigmented, these are less of a lipstick and more of a glossy-to-stain product comparable to the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. They're also the least expensive that I've seen around thus far. All in all, a great lip product if you're looking to try another balm stain. The colour range isn't quite as large as other brands but the ones that are available are very pretty!
Have you tried the Wet n Wild Balm Stains? How do you think they compare to the others?
