essence Galaxy Flakes Effect Nail Polish in Rock My World

Happy #manimonday. I'll make this quick by saying...YES, YES, YES. I LOVE THIS NAIL POLISH. It's the essence Galaxy Flakes Effect Nail Polish in Rock My World ($3.49, exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart) and holy cow is it beautiful. As a lover of essence's regular polish line, I was happy to learn that essence has 8 different effect nail polishes including denim, glitter jewels, polka dots, and sugar. So fun!

It's a textured, lilac topcoat with bits of iridescent flakies and silver sparkles. Above I've paired it with  Essie's "Using My Maiden Name". Match made in heaven, right? The only downside is that it's a b*ch and a half to remove.

essence Longlasting Lipsticks in Natural Beauty, Barely There & I Am Yours

You can't beat lipsticks $3.49, especially when they're actually really good. I received a few of the the essence Longlasting Lipsticks (exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart) at an essence event. There are a few new shades being launched for Spring/Summer 2015, but the only new one shown here is I Am Yours.

The essence Longlasting Lipsticks are your one-swipe type of pigmented. They have a creamy finish and last about 4 hours on my lips with eating and drinking. Given the price, I don't find them to be at all drying, just really smooth. I wouldn't go as far as saying that they're hydrating, but they're very comfortable on the lips and don't exaggerate lip lines or dry areas. Since all three of these colours are variations on a pink/nude/mauve, they're perfect for everyday at the office.

essence 2 in 1 Eyeliner Pen

One eyeliner, and two ways to wear it. essence's new 2 in 1 Eyeliner Pen ($3.99, exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart) is a felt tip liquid eyeliner that features a thin tip and a thick tip.

While I don't particularly care for the thick side, the thin one is precise enough for the way I like to line my eyes (with a short, thin line). If you're looking for pin-point precision, this one's not nearly as sharp as all of the brush tip liners I've ever tried. The formula is very black and opaque but bleeds slightly into fine lines. As for wear time, I'm thoroughly impressed. The photo below was taken after a 10 hour work day. Impressive, huh?

While the essence 2 in 1 Eyeliner isn't perfect, it's decent for the price. If you're looking for a budget eyeliner, check this one out.

Essence Bloom Me Up! Collection - Bloomylicious, Rose It Up and Blow My Mint

By the looks of it, the Essence Bloom Me Up! Collection is the epitome of Spring beauty. Floral embossing, lace, pastels, and a little bit of romance. There's not much more a girl could ask for. The collection consists of 3 mono eyeshadows, 1 duo eye pencil, 2 lipsticks, 2 blush sticks, 1 shimmer powder, 4 polishes, nail lace tips, 4 brushes, and a brush holder. Here's the lowdown on a few pieces from the collection now available in Canada:

Bloom Me Up! Shimmer Powder in Rose It Up! - I can't get over the intricacy of the floral design. For fear of removing the design, I winced every time I touched the surface of the powder. The Essence Shimmer powder is soft to the touch. It's a light beige colour that is shimmery but not overly so. The shade is too pale as a highlight for my face but would look lovely on some of you lighter ladies! I prefer this shimmer powder as a light dusting over the decollette for a subtle night-out glow.

[Shimmer Powder, Blow My Mint, Bloomylicious, & Rose It Up!]

Behold the Essence Mono Eyeshadows in 03 Blow My Mint, 01 Bloomylicious and 02 Rose It Up! The world would be a better place if all eyeshadows came with this same feminine embossing. As for the product, all three shadows seem to be a similar white-based, sheer pigment with a tint of either green, beige, or pink. Unfortunately, I didn't find these shadows to translate well on the lids. Although they feel soft and blendable, the mono eyeshadows made my eyes look a bit dry and chalky.

Last but certainly not least are the Nail Lace Tips in Bloomylicious. These dainty and delicate nail stickers come in 7 different sizes and 2 designs for a total of 28 stickers per package. They are actually quite "delicate" in the sense that if you do anything rough  with your hands, pieces might fall off, so be sure to use a top coat! I'm a huge fan and will most certainly be stalking my local Shoppers' Drug Mart for another pack or two.

If you're looking for pure eye candy, definitely pick up a piece or two from the Essence Bloom Me Up! Collection. Personally, I wasn't impressed any particular product other than the nail lace tips. The formulations shadows and face powders were so-so, but if you're anything like me you'd pick them up just to look at. If there was ever such thing as too pretty, this collection would be it.

What do you think of the Essence Bloom Me Up! Collection? Will you be picking anything up?
